However, this week it became known that a certain Mr. Hui appealed to the Supreme Court of Guangdong on the same issue for reconsideration. He was not satisfied with the decision of the Guangzhou People's Court, which said that Samsung China had no fraudulent intentions. The court considers that compensation for the telephone, as well as for the damaged laptop as a result of the explosion, is sufficient.

Now the victim decided to achieve greater compensation. In his new lawsuit, he asks compensation three times the cost of a phone and laptop, as Samsung knew about the marriage and tricked buyers.

In April 2019, the Guangzhou People's Court concluded that Samsung had no ill intentions at the time of the release of the Galaxy Note7. There is no evidence that the company knew about the design flaws of the model.
