Motorola Introduces RAZR Smartphone Stacker
The legend has returned in a modern form factor.
Motorola introduced the new clamshell RAZR. In design, it is similar to the RAZR V3 from the 2000s, but it is a folding smartphone, not a regular dialer. As in the original model, there is an additional screen on the cover. It displays notifications and widgets, and also allows you to reply to messages and take photos without opening the main display.
The main 6.2-inch display is made using pOLED technology and has a resolution of 2142 × 876 pixels, the external - 2.7-inch OLED with a resolution of 800 × 600 pixels. There are only two cameras: one on the cover and one in the recess of the main display (yes, the RAZR has a recess). The main camera at 16 megapixels received electronic stabilization, laser autofocus and dual flash. 5 megapixel selfie camera without flash, but in the dark, the face is illuminated by the screen.
The heart of the smartphone is the Snapdragon 710 processor with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. The 2,510 mAh battery supports 15 W fast charging via USB-C. Out of the box, the novelty runs on Android 9 Pie, all Google services are in place - and adapted to an unusual aspect ratio.
Motorola RAZR will be available only in black; they rated it at $1,500. It is at the same time cheaper than other folding smartphones (except for the model from Energizer, about which nothing has been heard for six months), and more expensive than the top flagships Samsung, Apple and Google. Given the fairly average specifications, it will be interesting to look at sales. On December 26, US telecom operator Verizon will open pre-orders; the device will go on sale in January. It is still unknown whether the smartphone will appear in other countries.
